The Eagle Valley Devils were the 47-45 winner over the Palisade Bulldogs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Eagle Valley was the victim of a tough 48-26 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Eagle Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Eagle Valley still got an impressive performance from Abby Talbot, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Eagle Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palisade only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Chloe Simons continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Palisade, scoring 24 points. Another player making a difference was Lyla Lancaster, who scored seven points along with seven steals.
Eagle Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Palisade, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Eagle Valley will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Junction has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9. As for Palisade, they will be playing at home against the Demons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Durango is ranked 106th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 92nd).
