It was a good run, but the McNair Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edison. While losing is never fun, McNair can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1023rd, while Edison is ranked 412th).
McNair's loss came despite strong showings from Isaac Flores and DaWaine Watson. Flores scored 20 points, while Watson scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The contest was Flores' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Yuvraj Sahota, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Terrell Tek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Edison, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Arthur Grady jr., who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
McNair's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Edison, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
McNair will head out on the road to face off against Weston Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weston Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 680 points over their last eight contests. As for Edison, they will be playing at home against Chavez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
