This season hasn't been kind to The Sandalwood Saints, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were beaten by Mandarin 43-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Sandalwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Mandarin is ranked 36th).
Thad Thomas threw for 45 yards on three of ten attempts. Kameron Mills was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards. On the ground, Cory Mathews rushed for 45 yards.
Mandarin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramell Jones, who threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Tiant Wyche was another key contributor, rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Sandalwood's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Mandarin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandalwood will take on Parker at 6:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Parker will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Mandarin, they will look to defend their home field on November 3rd against Bartram Trail at 6:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Laython Biddle and Wyche.
