AAA District 14 recap November 5, 2013
Arlington and Cordova played the closest game in AAA District 14 this week, with Arlington eventually emerging with a 49-48 victory. Hunter Sheffield threw for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
Bartlett made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,037 from 8,194. The improvement was the result of a 21-8 victory over Kingsbury last week.
Charles Taylor was a force in the backfield as the Wolves fell to the Tigers.
Taylor was a passing and rushing force as Cordova fell to Arlington. Taylor's favorite target this week was Marquis Ward, who caught 6 passes for 85 yards.
Assante Bowers made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bolton lost to Millington Central. The 5-foot-8 defensive lineman pulled down 1 interception.

Taylor was the best running back in the league this week. In 43 carries, he ran for 322 yards as Anthony Jones, Jr.'s team fell to Chris Wiley's team. Teammate Lavar Johnson added to the ground attack by rushing for 10 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Ward. The Cordova star has 46 catches for 790 yards.
