Dwyer hasn't had much luck against Forest Hill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dwyer Panthers will be playing at home against the Forest Hill Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Dwyer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, it was close, but Dwyer sidestepped Benjamin for a 6-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won five in a row.
Kaden Buford made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Back at the plate, Dwyer let Rocco Bianco and Owen Hewitt run wild. Bianco scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Hewitt scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Dwyer is 2-1 when Bianco posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Miguel Marrero was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Forest Hill fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Wellington on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Wolverines, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Kevin Valdez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (three).
On the hitting side, Yampiel Chavez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Dwyer's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Forest Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dwyer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Forest Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dwyer couldn't quite finish off Forest Hill in their previous matchup back in March of 2017 and fell 3-1. Can Dwyer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
