The Flora Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Carmi-White County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Flora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to the Indians. Flora has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Carmi-White County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They snuck past Edwards County with a 44-38 victory. Given Carmi-White County's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Lions are ranked 511th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Flora's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Carmi-White County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Flora came up short against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 44-37. Can Flora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
