Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Aspen). Everything went their way against the Rifle Bears on Friday as the Aspen Skiers made off with  a  78-53 win. Given the Skiers' advantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 49th, while the Bears are ranked 271st), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Aspen had a senior duo take command as  Tommy Franceschi  went 7 of 8  en route to 17  points and five  rebounds and  Giovanni Seeman  posted 13  points and five  boards. What's more,  Franceschi also racked up four  assists, the most he's  had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Jack Berro, who  had nine points.
 When it comes to explaining why Rifle lost, don't look at  Alex Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he  put up 20  points. Gonzalez's evening made it three games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eliezer Vega, who  posted six points in addition to five  assists and five  boards.
Aspen's record now sits at 7-3. As for Rifle,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-7.
 Aspen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  70-48  victory against Moffat County on the 11th. As for Rifle, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  78-43  defeat against Eagle Valley on the 11th.
