Eisenhower is 1-7 against Bloomington since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Jenna Vallin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Milani Paige, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alondra Hernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Bloomington's offense. They lost 14-0 to Corona on Friday. The shutout was out of character for the Bruins seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.
Bloomington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angela Everardo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Eisenhower's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bloomington, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Bloomington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eisenhower has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Bloomington, though, as they've been averaging 13 hits. Given Eisenhower's sizable advantage in that area, the Bruins will need to find a way to close that gap.
