St. Stephens struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Statesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-18 loss at the hands of North Iredell. While losing is never fun, Statesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while North Iredell is ranked 62nd).
St. Stephens has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Statesville, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for St. Stephens against Statesville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 60-24 win. With St. Stephens ahead 40-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
