Willowbrook has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Hononegah Indians at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Willowbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Yorkville, taking the game 21-13.
Meanwhile, Hononegah can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-12 win over Rockford Auburn. The victory was just business as usual for Hononegah, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Hononegah can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Houi, who gained 106 total yards and four touchdowns, and Cole Warren, who threw for 146 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Warren was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Greyson Motter and his 83 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Hononegah's victory.
Willowbrook's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Glenbard North and 1-8 Oak Park-River Forest (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.7% over those games). As for Hononegah, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
