Rocky River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Avon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Rocky River's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elizabeth Lang, who scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Russell, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Avon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby Owens, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Pagan, who scored 11 points.
Rocky River's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Avon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Rocky River will be playing in front of their home fans against Normandy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Normandy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 531st, while Rocky River is ranked 147th). As for Avon, they will head out on the road to face off against Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
