The Summit Christian Academy Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-46 win over Varsity Opponent. Summit Christian Academy pushed the score to 54-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the cut but never quite recovered from.
Payton Hammond was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Braden Wheeler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Summit Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 359-1300-2.
Summit Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Varsity Opponent, they and the Roadrunners will face off at 9:45 a.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Omaha R focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
