The Desert Hills Thunder will take on the Bingham Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bingham will be up against a hot Desert Hills team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Thunder put the hurt on Hurricane with a sharp 14-4 win on Tuesday. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Lulu West was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Greene, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Lily Ringel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Desert Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hurricane only posted an OBP of .211.
Westlake hit Bingham with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Miners took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder.
Kavamahea Haiola was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Turner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.
Desert Hills' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bingham, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
