The Bethel Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Amistad Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Wednesday, Bethel was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-32 to Wilton.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Amistad ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 45-41 victory over East Lyme.
Amistad's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Fatema Thomas, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least 25% of Amistad's points. Another player making a difference was LaShaya Patterson , who dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks.
Bethel's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1. As for Amistad, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Bethel beat Amistad 44-31 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Does Bethel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Amistad turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
