Basketball Recap: Mackay Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mackay lost to Murtaugh back in December of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Miners snuck past the Red Devils with a 39-34 victory. The Miners' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Mackay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Holt, who posted nine points and eight boards. Holt has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jesse Barger, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Mackay's record now sits at 4-0. As for Murtaugh, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Mackay will challenge Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murtaugh, they will take on Sun Valley Community at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
