The Lago Vista Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Marble Falls Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lago Vista is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Lago Vista lost to Jarrell on the road by a decisive 51-35 margin. While losing is never fun, Lago Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 826th, while Jarrell is ranked 399th).
Lago Vista's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Saylor Stamos, who scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks, and Eliana Helton who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Marble Falls has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Lampasas with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-20.
Lago Vista's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Marble Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-19.
Lago Vista suffered a grim 44-22 defeat to Marble Falls when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Lago Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
