Holliday is 9-1 against City View since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Holliday is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Valley View: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Holliday blew Valley View out of the water with a 71-6 final score. Holliday has beaten Valley View the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Valley View has come to flipping the script.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times City View and Henrietta have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Mustangs claimed a resounding 51-19 win over the Bearcats.
Holliday better keep an eye on Malachi Williams. He was instrumental in City View's win, throwing for 201 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, while also rushing for 59 yards. Brian Collier was Williams' top target, picking up six receiving yards.
City View didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Henrietta to a completion percentage of just 40%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Williams, Collier, and Marcus Campos, who each logged one passes deflected. City View wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 68.8%.
City View's defense also made the game a nightmare for Chaden Clark, racking up seven sacks. Henrietta's QB won't forget Nick Herring anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Keylan Marks was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Holliday's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for City View, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Holliday has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like City View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 198.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Holliday against City View in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Williams, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Eagles still be able to contain Williams? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
