Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 64-51 to the Angola Hornets. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Alivia Bolinger, who posted 16 points. The matchup was Bolinger's third in a row with at least ten points. Cella Kaiser was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Bailey Holman had a dynamite game for Angola, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Those 29 points gave Holman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Rinard, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Angola, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-31 victory against Garrett on the 19th. As for Angola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-43 win against Concord on the 18th.
