The Joseph City Wildcats will take on the Alchesay Falcons at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Joseph City has given up an average of 49.9 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Tuesday, Joseph City lost to Mogollon on the road by a 66-51 margin.

Joseph City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli James, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 14 points, and Heston Miller, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. James is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cort Miller, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alchesay). They claimed a resounding 92-24 victory over Miami. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Vandals: they've now won four in a row.
Alchesay's win came from a few key players Joseph City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Micah Yazzie, who shot 55% from the field en route to 16 points and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high. Jeremy Nosie was another key player, going 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points and four steals.
Alchesay's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Joseph City, they dropped their record down to 7-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Joseph City has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.2 boards per game. It's a different story for Alchesay, though, as they've been averaging only 9.8 rebounds. Given Joseph City's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Joseph City was able to grind out a solid win over Alchesay in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 53-46. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
