Fox Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Batesburg-Leesville likes a good challenge.
Fox Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Pelion for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-46 victory at home. Given Fox Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Pelion is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Connor Cannon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Blake Holloway, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville came up short against Strom Thurmond on Wednesday and fell 55-44.
Fox Creek's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Fox Creek beat Batesburg-Leesville 51-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Fox Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Batesburg-Leesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
