Basketball Game Preview: Ascent Classical Academy Guardians vs. Mile High Academy Mustangs

The Ascent Classical Academy Guardians are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against the Mile High Academy Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses dating back to last season for Ascent Classical Academy and eight for Mile High Academy dating back to last season.

Ascent Classical Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty Tree Academy.

Despite their loss, Ascent Classical Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mason Jones, who posted 17 points and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Jones' morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Colberg, who had ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mile High Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Denver Academy of Torah by a score of 43-32. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 11 points.

Ascent Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mile High Academy, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Ascent Classical Academy came up short against Mile High Academy in their previous matchup back in February, falling 39-33. Can Ascent Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
