The Indian Springs Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell to Round Mountain 40-34. Indian Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Round Mountain apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2018.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Round Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Chavez, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Bullington, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Indian Springs bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Round Mountain, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Indian Springs will head out on the road to square off against Laughlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Laughlin is ranked 105th, while Indian Springs is ranked 111th). As for Round Mountain, Round Mountain and Tonopah will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tonopah comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
