The Fort Hancock Mustangs lost against the Van Horn Eagles last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fort Hancock received a tough blow as they fell 44-28 to Van Horn. Fort Hancock has not had much luck with Van Horn recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Isayell Flores was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Van Horn's points. Another player making a difference was Orlando Zamora, who scored 10 points.
Fort Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Van Horn, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Fort Hancock will be playing at home against Alpine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fort Hancock in Texas (Alpine is ranked 259th, while Fort Hancock is ranked 802nd). Van Horn is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
