The Carvers Bay Bears will challenge the Timberland Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Bears fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Andrews on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Scottie Port was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Port was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maggie Hemingway, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Savannah Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timberland). They blew past Lake City 19-1 on Monday. With that win, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Kaleigh White was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Lainey Nichols also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .739. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive games.
Carvers Bay might still be hurting after the 18-7 defeat they got from Timberland in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
