The Ware County Gators waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 63-49 win over Coffee. Given Ware County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Coffee is ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Coffee still got an impressive performance from Marquavious Bussey, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bussey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Junitho Benson, who scored six points along with three steals.
Ware County pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Coffee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ware County will square off against Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coffee, they will head out on the road to face off against Atkinson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
