Lovington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Gomez out in front who threw for 302 yards and five touchdowns while completing 92.6% of his passes. Demarcus Thompson was another key contributor, gaining 128 total yards and three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Lovington's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Leading the way was Thompson and his 2.5 sacks.
Silver's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Lovington, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Silver does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lovington will head out on the road to face off against Portales at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Portales is ranked ninth, while Lovington is ranked seventh).
