Softball Recap: Raleigh-Egypt Wins Going Away Against Craigmont

Raleigh-Egypt never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Craigmont Chiefs. The win continues a trend for the Pharaohs in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Keira Ressler was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Tamrya Webb was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Miyanna A, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Raleigh-Egypt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

The victory got Raleigh-Egypt back to even at 3-3. As for Craigmont, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Raleigh-Egypt will be playing at home against Middle College at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Craigmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Cordova at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
