After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sunny Hills, the Irvine Vaqueros were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past El Modena 74-43 on the road. Given Irvine's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while El Modena is ranked 847th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Finn Hoffman was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaesang An, who scored 9 points.
Irvine's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for El Modena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Irvine is on the road again on Saturday and play against Godinez Fundamental at 4:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for El Modena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
