The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by West Rowan on the road to the tune of 87-37. Central Cabarrus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Cabarrus to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Daniel, who scored eight points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Daniel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Desmond Kent Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, West Rowan saw an underclassman step up: Brant Graham scored ten points along with two steals. Graham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Young, who scored seven points.
Central Cabarrus' win was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.8 points per game. As for West Rowan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will challenge Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Cabarrus knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 matches -- so hopefully Concord likes a good challenge. As for West Rowan, they will head out on the road to challenge Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something West Rowan surely won't give up without a fight.
