The Weston Trojans will be playing at home against the Brookfield Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Weston's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 46-26 defeat to New Milford might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Brookfield came up short against Masuk on Friday and fell 31-20. It was the first time this season that Brookfield let down their fans at home.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Michael Walters, who rushed for 118 yards. Walters was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Carter Sacharewitz was another key contributor, gaining 40 total yards and two touchdowns.
Weston's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.8 points per game. As for Brookfield, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Weston took their win against Brookfield when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 34-14. Does Weston have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brookfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
