Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Pittsfield

Pittsfield came tearing into Monday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Farmington Tigers get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alex Penney made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 18 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Pittsfield let Alivia Lavigne and Chelsee Chagnon run wild. Lavigne got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Chagnon got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Chagnon has posted since back in May of 2025. Nika Pereira was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Pittsfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Pittsfield's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Farmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.
