The Dyer County Choctaws will face off against the Westview Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Westview will be up against a hot Dyer County squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Dyer County's pitchers stepped up to hand Munford an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Choctaws this season.

Rylee Key made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Key was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kierstyn Ray, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Wray, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, everything went Westview's way against Union City on Tuesday as Westview made off with a 15-0 victory. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Golden Tornadoes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Like Dyer County, Westview also got a great game from a two-way player: McCall Sims. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Sims was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Westview got a massive performance out of Lakyn Rogers, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Tanyla Ward was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
Westview pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dyer County, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Dyer County skirted past Westview 8-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Dyer County repeat their success, or does Westview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
