The Trona Tornadoes will venture away from home to face off against the Immanuel Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after six games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
On Saturday, Trona took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-14 victory over Mojave. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Tornadoes this season.

09/27/25 @ Frazier Mountain | 8 |
Trona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Knight led the charge by rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 68 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Those 76 rushing yards gave Knight a new career-high. Robert Stephens was in the mix as well, providing Trona with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trona was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 287 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Christian blew past Frazier Mountain, posting a 50-16 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Trona better keep an eye on Romelle Harris. He was instrumental in Immanuel Christian's win, rushing for 131 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. Harris is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Mazyn Weaver was another major influence, as he rushed for 53 yards and ran in a TD.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Immanuel Christian's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Bryson Parker, Jonathan Hernandez, and Nick Finley, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Frazier Mountain's side was Parker, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Trona's record now sits at 6-0. As for Immanuel Christian, their record is now an identical 6-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Trona has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 272.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Immanuel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 182 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Trona against Immanuel Christian when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tornadoes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
