Meanwhile, Alief Hastings' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 62-40 defeat at the hands of Pearland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alief Hastings in their matchups with Pearland: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their defeat, Alief Hastings saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Wembo Fernandes, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Amari Wilkerson, who scored 14 points.
Alief Hastings struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Dawson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Alief Hastings, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Dawson against Alief Hastings when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 91-46 victory.
