Excel Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonah Calderas, who scored 13 points, and Mark Doerfler who scored eight points. Calderas continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Excel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Smith Valley, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excel Christian will take on enCompass Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (enCompass Academy is ranked 103rd, while Excel Christian is ranked 84th). As for Smith Valley, Smith Valley and Coleville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
