The Palmer Terrors will head out on the road to face off against the Hinkley Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palmer is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Palmer came up short against Gateway and fell 24-17.
Despite the loss, Palmer had strong showings from Arvell Amos, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Dyson Sharpton, who rushed for 116 yards. Amos' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Hinkley, who are still winless after their ninth game. They were dealt a 67-0 loss at the hands of Vista PEAK Prep on Friday. Hinkley was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
The losses dropped Palmer to 2-7 and Hinkley to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Palmer against Hinkley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 40-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmer since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
