The St. Ignatius Wildcats entered their tilt with the Buchtel Griffins with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. St. Ignatius came out on top against Buchtel by a score of 55-46 on Saturday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points St. Ignatius has scored all year.
It was another big night for Quinn Woidke, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalli Johnson, who scored ten points along with two steals.
St. Ignatius has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Buchtel, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.
St. Ignatius and St. Edward will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Edward is on a seven-game streak of home wins, St. Ignatius a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Buchtel will take on Ellet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ellet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 638th, while Buchtel is ranked 229th).
