The Platte Valley Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Eaton Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Platte Valley is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Sidney on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. 2025 welcomed Platte Valley with a 61-41 loss courtesy of Sidney. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Despite the loss, Platte Valley got top-tier performance from Regan Edstrom, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Edstrom has posted since back in December of 2023. Hazen Weber was another key player, putting up five points.
Meanwhile, Eaton might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Resurrection Christian an easy 61-38 victory. The defeat continues a trend for the Reds in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.
Platte Valley will have to contain Austin Crider as he made an impact in Eaton's last game. He posted 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Blaskowski, who put up eight points.
Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Platte Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Platte Valley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Eaton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Platte Valley took a serious blow against Eaton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 68-37. Can Platte Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
