The Wallace Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Wauneta-Palisade 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Wallace has posted against Wauneta-Palisade since December 5, 2019.
Wallace found their leader in underclassman Kaley Sauser, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Sauser hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendyl Flaming, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Wallace's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Wallace will head out on the road to square off against Brady at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wauneta-Palisade will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Medicine Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
