The Marblehead Magicians will face off against the Woburn Memorial Tanners on Friday. Marblehead is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
Marblehead can't be too worried about heading out to take on Woburn Memorial: they just beat Swampscott at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Magicians came out on top against the Big Blue by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8, 2021, but that streak is no more.
The win didn't come easy: Swampscott scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 29-27.

Erin Wilder had an outrageously good game as she had 31 assists and ten digs. Those 31 assists gave her a new career-high.
Marblehead was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 11 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Woburn Memorial rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Rams 3-0. The Tanners not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 3rd (when they won 3-0).
Woburn Memorial never let Shepherd Hill Regional on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-10, 25-13.
Marblehead better keep an eye on Lauren Snyder. She was instrumental in Woburn Memorial's win, getting nine assists and three aces.
Woburn Memorial now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Marblehead, their record is now 16-2.
Marblehead beat Woburn Memorial 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. Do the Magicians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tanners turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
