After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three contest, The Baptist Hill Bobcats finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a serious blow against Cross, falling 52-0. Baptist Hill was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Leading Cross to victory were Mah?Ky Green and Karmello Jones. Green rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Jones rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Green's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Tyler Mungin, who rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Baptist Hill now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Cross, the win was the eighth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Baptist Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John's at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (St. John's is ranked 225th, while Baptist Hill is ranked 208th). As for Cross, they will head out on the road to face off against Burke at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Burke: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Cross has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
