South Bend Riley has not had much luck with New Prairie recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, South Bend Riley still got an impressive performance from Serenity Farmer, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
New Prairie had a senior duo take command as Jolie Johns scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists and Jayden Flagg scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johns has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Morgan White, who scored seven points along with five steals.
South Bend Riley bumped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for New Prairie, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Bend Riley will face off against Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Trinity is ranked 374th, while South Bend Riley is ranked 369th). New Prairie will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mishawaka at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
