After four games on the road, Riverside is heading back home. They will take on the Hampton Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Riverside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 83-30 win over Elba on the road. Riverside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Dane Schalk was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Larry Diessner, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hampton waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past College View Academy 66-34 at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Arndt, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Porter Dose was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Riverside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Everything came up roses for Riverside against Hampton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 56-25 victory. With Riverside ahead 31-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
