After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oktaha, the Haskell Haymakers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Mounds by a score of 46-35. That's another feather in the cap for Haskell, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexa Wilson, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylie Harig, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win got Haskell back to even at 1-1. As for Mounds, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haskell will take on Keys at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mounds will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Porter at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
