The Calvary Saints will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Lincolnwood Lancers at 7:15 p.m. Calvary will be looking to keep their 22-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Calvary scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 89-56 win over Mt. Pulaski. Given Calvary's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Mt. Pulaski is ranked 577th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Calvary can attribute much of their success to Connor Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine assists, and Luke Blackford, who almost dropped a double-double on 42 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Blackford has scored at least a third of Calvary's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antione Hunter, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lincolnwood's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Brownstown/St. Elmo 44-39.
Calvary's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Lincolnwood, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-12.
Things could have been worse for Calvary, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-52 loss to Lincolnwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2023.
