Gaither hasn't had much luck against Steinbrenner recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gaither Cowboys will venture away from home to face off against the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Steinbrenner took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Gaither, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, everything went Gaither's way against Hillsborough as Gaither made off with a 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.
Noah Locklear looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Jackson Mirza was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eddy Rojo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Gaither always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillsborough only posted an OBP of .280.
Meanwhile, Steinbrenner fell victim to Carrollwood Day and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since March 9, 2024.
Steinbrenner also got a good showing from Brooks Belisle, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Steinbrenner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelton Meares, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Meares is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Steinbrenner fell to 2-1. As for Gaither, their record now sits at 2-0.
Gaither skirted past Steinbrenner 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gaither since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
