The Boulder Panthers lost against the Rock Canyon Jaguars back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Boulder was dealt a 70-34 loss at the hands of Rock Canyon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Boulder has scored all season.
Defeat or not, Boulder got some senior leadership from Dale Boyer who scored ten points and Kyle Blauch who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds. Blauch is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
Rock Canyon was led to victory by Kasen Lehman and Macoy Terry. Lehman scored 19 points along with five assists, while Terry scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The contest was Lehman's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Ellwood, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Boulder's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Rock Canyon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Boulder will be playing at home against Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Horizon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 two weeks ago. As for Rock Canyon, they will head out on the road to face off against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
