The Lawrence Academy Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lawrence Academy comes in on three and Cape Fear Christian Academy on seven.
Lawrence Academy will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Grace Christian on Friday. The Warriors skirted past the Crusaders 10-8.

Clair Ferebee made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Hallie Mizelle was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jaslene Ethridge, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Lawrence Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian only posted an OBP of .394.
Meanwhile, Cape Fear Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Pungo Christian Academy on Friday, but Pungo Christian Academy never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like Lawrence Academy, Cape Fear Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Glenna Mclamb. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Mclamb was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Megan Harrold, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Kristina Kennedy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Lawrence Academy's record is now 10-3. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lawrence Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Cape Fear Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lawrence Academy couldn't quite finish off Cape Fear Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
