Spackenkill is 2-8 against Highland since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Spackenkill Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Highland Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Spackenkill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
Spackenkill scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They took down Ellenville 60-41. The win was some much needed relief for Spackenkill as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Spackenkill can attribute much of their success to Blythe Mcquade, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Maryclare Parker-stark, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker-stark has scored all season. Katrina Carmel was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highland can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Webutuck as Highland made off with a 52-29 victory.
Spackenkill's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Highland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Spackenkill came up short against Highland in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 36-24. Can Spackenkill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
