Softball Recap: Dothan Has No Trouble Against Benjamin Russell

Dothan won against Tallassee on Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Benjamin Russell Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Savanna Kendrick made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Kendrick was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harmoni Descalzi, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Hutchins, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Dothan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Dothan's record is now 8-10-1. As for Benjamin Russell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13-1 record this season.

Dothan will face off against Montgomery Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.78 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Benjamin Russell, they will take on Rehobeth at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Rebels have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
